Photography. Multimedia.

Hi Yadbhavishya,

Thanks for the comments and I'll be glad to lend a word on anything related to multimedia.
Good to know that u r into illustration and design. Do u have any of ur work online? Let me know and I'll be happy to check 'em out.

Just a snip about the pics here. None of them are panoramas taken from the camera:)...its just a thing that I do myself, by trimming the image to any dimension that may be apt enuf to represent it. That includes bringing out a triangular or circular image too!

Therez tons of information online, but here are my two cents:

Photography:

photoxels.com has some good digital photography tutorials to start with.

photo.net has a great forum and will answer several questions. You can post your pictures for a critique too. This gives a chance to improvize on our skill.

To talk about, it is not always about the right camera that takes the right picture, but rather the right time(00:00) and with the right perspective that the picture was taken.

Much more that anything else, hands on practice with the camera will teach a great deal. Thanks with the advent of digital cameras, experimenting with photography has never been easier. Play with the aperture, shutter speed and exposure in varied situations and timings, including indoor/outdoor.

For outdoors, the best pictures are said to be taken during dawn, dusk and overcast times.

Lighting is the most important factor (ever wondered about those stunning images where the incident light rays sneaking through the clouds falling on the subject and making the whole scene just picture perfect!). Before taking an image, wait for the opportune moment to capure the image by using the best of the natural light. ( It is said that a good picture take around 35 seconds of time).

Use your flash at minimal and rely on the natural light for most of the situations.

There is whole different yard to discuss about the kind of lenses for a given situation and other gear to be taken for consideration.

Have fun with your photography. Feel free to bring up any of ur questions.

Flash:

This blog may just not be enuf to discuss about this wonderful software. Anyways, we have the www and google to our mercy, as always:).
Flash 9 is rolling out and is going to be the most prominent tool changing the whole face of the web. In the client/server architecture, clients would become thinner and mightier. Web will be even more interactive in terms of video and graphical content and intensive in terms of data processing, thanks to flash's actionscript.

flashkit.com, ultrashock.com, kirupa.com have amazing information with bustling forums. ADOBE is the place for all flash related updates.

Best way to learn flash is to tweak or reverse engineer the already existing flash animation/websites/graphics and learn their workflow.

You can download flash content from the web using flash capture and check the flash file's scripts/actions with swf decompiler. Swish is an easy authoring tool to develop flash websites and animation.

Flash has come a long way (my association with it goes to 1999/2000, right from flash 3) being an animation tool, to a powerful and ominous web authoring tool for interactive digital media. Check these websites at favoritewebsiteawards!.

Photoshop:

Adobe PS CS2 is THE image editing tool in the professional world. ADOBE by itself offers some great tutorials and tips.
If you are interested in illustration, Adobe Illustrator is something that you would want to look into.

I think the two cents have been a bit too heavy!, but I hope this gives us a start.

Iam obsessed with pbase.com. Flickr and Pixelpost.com (especially inspired by Claude Renault's work)
